I've just started work with the Amber Trust to help provide visually impaired children the best possible chances to fulfil their musical aspirations.
Along with many other practitioners across the county, I'm going to be delivering music sessions for visually impaired children and young people with complex needs, and introducing them to Amber Plus resources.
Amber Plus has just been launched, and aims to enable blind or partially sighted children to engage with music by providing families and professionals with resources and ideas for music-making. The service is free for families and there are loads of useful resources on their website :) It's all based around the Sounds of Intent framework and is being funded by Global's Make Some Noise campaign. I think it's fantastic, and I'm really excited to be a part of it all!
