This week, Live Music Now arranged for me to play at Bath Hospital, and it was SO LOVELY. This is a hospital that really believes in the power of the arts to enhance wellbeing.
Anyway, I did a little public performance in the atrium, and then went round the geriatric wards to do a sing. The patients were smiling, singing along, clapping, and a couple even did a little dance (they were supposed to stay in bed). One lady hadn't spoken for 2 weeks and joined in with every word. I played 'First Time Ever I Saw Your Face' 3 times for another lady, as she liked it so much. I feel so lucky to part of such a positive collective experience - seeing the wellbeing of the patients transformed by the power of music is just amazing. More please.
